forgiveness for every visitor of his grave.

*Introduction*
Love for Ahlul Bayt (A.S) is the Foundation of Faith
Love for the Ahlul Bayt (A.S) is not just an emotion; it is a fundamental measure of faith. The Holy
Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) emphasized throughout his life the virtues of his Ahlul Bayt (A.S),
declaring love for them as an essential component of Imaan. Their love is not just Sunnah; it is an
obligation, repeatedly emphasized in both the Holy Qur’an and Hadith.
The heart of the Ahlul Bayt (A.S) is Imam Hussain (A.S), our third Imam, who was martyred in
Karbala after being deprived of food and water for three days. In Karbala, Imam Hussain (A.S) not
only saved Islam but also defined the true essence of love, loyalty, and sacrifice.
His personality brings us closer to Allah (S.W.T), and being chosen by Allah for such a divine
mission, it is unthinkable that visiting his shrine would be without immense heavenly reward.
As the narration says: “*Whoever performs the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S), it is as if they have
visited the throne of Allah.*”
– Kamil al-Ziyarat
Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) further said:
“When Allah intends good for someone, He instills in their heart the love for الامام الحسين
(A.S) and the desire to visit his shrine.

Blessings and Rewards for the Visitors (Zaa’ir) of Imam Hussain (A.S)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) narrated:
*”Whenever one of you prepares for the journey to perform the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S), the
dwellers of the heavens bring glad tidings. As soon as he steps out from his home-whether on foot
or riding-Allah appoints a thousand angels to pray upon him and send Salawat until he reaches the
shrine.”* – Fazail-e-Ahlul Bayt, Volume 2
He further stated:
“O People! Rejoice! You have become free from affliction, your past sins have been forgiven.
Begin your deeds anew with purity.”
If that visitor dies during this journey or within the same year, then the responsibility of capturing his
soul falls directly upon Allah Himself.
Angles accompany Zaa’ir
When the Zaa’ir returns home, angels accompany him, continue praying for his forgiveness and
send Salawat upon him. Upon reaching home, the angels say:
“O Lord! This is Your servant who has been granted the honor of visiting the son of Your
Prophet. Now he has returned; where should we go?”
A voice responds from the heavens:
“O My angels! Stand by My servant’s house until his death. Continue glorifying Me and
record the reward of this act in his register of good deeds.”
At the time of his death, the same angels will be present for his Ghusl (ritual bath) and Kafan
(shrouding), and will say: *”O our Lord! You assigned us a duty to stand by this servant’s house.
Now he has departed from this world. What is our next command?”*
A Divine reply comes: *”Remain by his grave until the Day of Judgement, glorifying and sanctifying
Me, and continue adding the reward of this action to his account.”* – Fazail-e-Ahlul Bayt, Volume 2
The Miracles and Spiritual Impact on the Lives of Zaa’ireen
There are countless real-life incidents where visitors of Imam Hussain’s (A.S) shrine received divine
help during hardships, miraculous healing from chronic illnesses, and unparalleled inner peace. The
land of Karbala is not just sacred; it is spiritually transformative.
Muhammad bin Muslim narrates that he heard from Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (A.S.) and Imam
Ja’far al-Sadiq (A.S.) that they said:
“*Allah granted three special honors to Imam Hussain (A.S.) in exchange for his martyrdom:*
1. *Imamat was continued in his progeny,*
2. *Healing (Shifa) was placed in his sacred grave,*
3. *Supplications (duas) near his shrine are accepted.
And the time spent traveling to and from his shrine is not counted from a visitor’s lifespan.”
Muhammad bin Muslim then asked the Imam:
“*If the reward for the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.) is so immense, how great must the status of
visiting the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) be?”*
The Imam replied:
“Allah has associated Imam Hussain (A.S.) with the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and his rank and
status are aligned with the Prophet’s.”
The Imam then recited from the Holy Qur’an, Surah At-Tur, verse 21:
And those who believed, and whose descendants followed them in faith* – *We will join them
with their descendants
