Imam Ja’far Sadiq (A.S) said:
“The night of the 15th of Sha’ban is the best night after Laylat al-Qadr. In this night, Allah grants His servants from His bounty, and forgives those who seek forgiveness, and bestows mercy upon those who call Him This night is a time of spiritual awakening, introspection, and preparation for the mission of Imam Mahdi (A.J). It is believed that the destinies of people are written on this night. Worship, repentance, and Ziyarat are highly recommended.
Why Perform Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S) on This Night? Imam Sadiq (A.S) has emphasized:
> “Whoever visits the grave of >Imam Hussain (A.S) on the night of the 15th of Sha’ban, Allah will forgive all his past and future sins.”(Kamil al-Ziyarat) The Best Time for the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.)
Imam Ali Raza (A.S.) was once asked,
“O Imam, when is the most virtuous time to perform the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.)?”
The Imam replied:
“On the night of 15th Rajab and the night of 15th Sha’ban Complete Forgiveness on the Night of 15th Sha’ban
Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S.) said Whoever performs the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.) on the night of 15th Sha’ban, Allah forgives all his past and future sins A New Beginning for the Visitors of Imam Hussain (A.S.) Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S.) also said:O Yunus! On the night of 15th Sha’ban, Allah, the Exalted, forgives the sins past and future of every person who visits Imam Hussain (A.S.). And it is said to them: Start your deeds afresh.
The narrator asked:
“O Master, is this reward for all who visit Imam Hussain (A.S.) on this night?”
The Imam replied:
“O Yunus, if I were to tell people the full reward of visiting Imam Hussain (A.S.) on this night, they would never delay it and would even sacrifice their lives for it.”
One Visit, a Thousand Rewards Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S.) stated:
“Whoever visits Imam Hussain (A.S.) on the night of 15th Sha’ban, the night of Eid al-Fitr, and the night of Arafah within the same year, Allah will record for him the reward of 1,000 accepted Hajj, 1,000 accepted Umrah, and will fulfill 1,000 of his worldly and Hereafter needs Divine Announcement from the Skies.
Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S.) said:
“When the night of 15th Sha’ban arrives, a voice calls out from the heavens: O pilgrims of Hussain! Return in peace, for your sins have been forgiven and your reward is upon Allah, your Lord, and upon the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), your Messenger.
One Hundred and Twenty-Four Thousand Prophets Accompany You.
Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain (A.S.) narrated:
“Whoever desires to be accompanied by 124,000 Prophets should perform the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.) on the night of 15th Sha’ban. The souls of the Prophets seek permission from Allah to visit the grave of Imam Hussain (A.S.), and permission is granted to the Ulul-Azm Prophets.”
The narrator asked:
“Who are the Ulul-Azm Prophets?”
The Imam replied:
“>Nooh (A.S.), Ibrahim (A.S.), Musa (A.S.), Isa (A.S.), and Muhammad (S.A.W.).“
When asked, “What does ‘Ulul-Azm‘ mean?” the Imam responded:
“Ulul-Azm are those Prophets who were sent to the East and West of the earth, to all the populated lands of humans and jinn.”

> “Whoever performs the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S) with passion and devotion, Allah will grant him the
reward of:
One thousand accepted Hajj
One thousand accepted Umrah
One thousand martyrs from the battle of Badr
One thousand days of fasting
One thousand acts of charity
The freeing of one thousand slaves in the way of Allah.” Moreover, the pilgrim will be under divine protection for the entire year:
“For that year, he will be safe from every calamity and protected from the deception of Satan. Two angels will be assigned to guard him from all directions.”
A Beautiful End and a Bright Hereafter The blessings do not end with this life. Imam Baqir (A.S) continues:
> “If he dies in that year, the angels of mercy will be present at his Ghusl and Kafan. They will seek forgiveness
for him and accompany his funeral procession to the grave. His grave will be expanded as far as the eye can see. Allah will protect him from the punishment of the grave and the fear of Munkar and Nakir. The gates of Paradise will be opened for him, and his Book of Deeds will be placed in his right hand.”
On the Day of Judgment:
> “He will be granted such a radiant light that it will brighten the space between the East and the West. A
voice will call out: ‘This is the one who visited the grave of Hussain (A.S) with love and longing.’ On that Day, there will be no one who does not wish they had also been among the visitors of Hussain (A.S).”
