Ziyarat Ashura – A Miracle That Unlocked What Was Lost

Introduction

When hardships strike in the form of financial loss or theft, and worldly doors seem shut, it is the court of Imam Hussain (A.S.) that remains open. This is the story of how the blessings of Ziyarat Ashura turned despair into relief and restored what was thought to be lost forever.

The Robbery

Syed Hasan Garfi, son of Syed Raza Garfi, narrates:

“My father owned a workshop in Isfahan. In the year 1325 AH, the workshop was robbed. The thief was caught but refused to confess and, as a result, was imprisoned for 6 months.

My father was extremely distressed as all his valuable goods were stolen. Trusting no one but Imam Hussain (A.S.), he began the Amal of Ziyarat Ashura with full etiquette for 40 days — after Fajr prayer with 100 curses (لعنت), 100 salutations (سلام), and Dua Alqamah.

Despite completing 40 days, no news arrived about his stolen goods. But his faith did not waver; he continued the recitation beyond 40 days.”

The Dream Revelation

“On the 50th day, my 11-year-old sister saw a dream. She saw four Sayyid men and four Sayyid women passing by a bakery. She offered them Salaam. They replied warmly and said:

‘Tell your father, Syed Raza Garfi, that we shall soon return his goods. But remind him not to forget his unfulfilled pledge.'”

The Recovery

“Within a few days, some of our goods surfaced in the market. The products had our workshop’s trademark. Newspapers published the news about the stolen items.

A kind trader helped us track the thief, who was the same man imprisoned earlier. Under pressure, he surrendered the remaining goods. That thief spent the rest of his life in poverty and humiliation.”

The Hidden Message

“It turned out that during Hajj 1321 AH, my father had borrowed 3000 Tuman from Hajj Hussain Ali Darbi Khushki, the representative of Ayatullah Mirza Shirazi, and had forgotten to repay it. This was the ‘pledge’ the dream referred to.

As soon as he remembered, my father rushed to settle the debt immediately — and after that, his life was free from such misfortunes.”
